BRISTOL 411 Series 5 1976
Chassis no 7791659 SOLD
The Bristol 411 was introduced in 1970 and was fitted with a 6.5 litre Chrysler V8 and Torqueflite automatic transmission. At the time it was claimed to be the fastest 4 seat car in the world. It was built by hand to aircraft standards in small numbers (about 260 cars in all) over 5 series in the Bristol factory at Filton (next door to the Concorde assembly line!). This 5th series car is the last 411 built and incorporates all upgrades and improvements over the earlier cars including an engine built for unleaded petrol. Finished in the classic colours of dark blue with biscuit interior it is in superb condition having been carefully looked after by enthusiast owners - witnesssed by two full box files of history and maintenance invoices supporting a total mileage of 124,000. Little used in recent years it has recently been inspected and recommissioned by by Bristol specialists Spencer Lane Jones. The 411 is generally considered to be the best looking V8 Bristol and this car not only looks impeccable inside and out but it drives as a 411 should - extraordinarily well for a car of this era!
