BRISTOL 405 1957
Chassis no 405 - 4239
The Bristol 405 was the only 4 door car built by the Bristol Aeroplane Company and is remembered for its very distinctive and aerodynamic styling with a single spotlight mounted in front of the grille. Fitted with the 2 litre 100 series Bristol engine and 4 speed gearbox with remote change and overdrive the 405 is perhaps the last of the sporting Bristols and is known for its superb driving characteristics.
This Bristol red example is one of the last built and was fitted with Dunlop disc brakes from new - one of the first production cars to feature them. It spent 40 years with one celebrity owner and had a major factory restoration in 1990s and has not had much used since. It looks good and drives well. Currently being recommissioned prior to sale.
